We do everything you’d expect from a preschool, except we do it all in Spanish! We serve mainly English-speaking families who want their children to learn to speak another language. The earlier your kiddo starts, the easier it is! Kids often don’t even realize that they are learning another language – they’re just learning and having fun. It is so amazing to watch!
Since 2001, when it was the only Spanish immersion school in the area, Mis Amigos has grown to care for over 200 children across 4 locations. We aren’t just a bilingual daycare. Teachers actively teach Spanish through our curriculum so that your little one absorbs their new language with ease.

I grew up in Indiana and have always been fascinated by other cultures. My first Spanish class was my freshman year of high school, and I fell in love with both the language and the culture of Latin America. I loved immersing myself in the culture and diversity of Mis Amigos when my oldest child attended in 2004. So, in 2005, when the founders of the school decided to move on, it seemed like a perfect fit for me to become the owner and Executive Director.
Our tagline is “Giving Children the World.” I feel we are doing just that! We are opening their eyes to new people, new cultures, new experiences that I hope will stay with them for a lifetime. Learning diversity at a young age is critical. This is why I’ve devoted all these years to the school and to these students. It is my mission. I feel we are changing the world – one child at a time.

I have been Executive Director at Mis Amigos since 2012 and I feel so blessed to have found this position at this wonderful school. Before coming to Mis Amigos I spent 9 years as a litigator within a law firm followed by 3 years at the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota, where I advocated for children in the foster care system.
After being able to dedicate my skills to helping kids in need, it was very apparent that I had a passion for child advocacy. As I considered the next steps of my career, I wanted to be sure I was doing something to the world a better place for children. And I found that opportunity at Mis Amigos.
Every day, I get to witness their marvelous growth and development and be part of their educational journies. I am constantly energized by the joy I see on children’s faces and by the love and commitment our teachers give to their students. Mis Amigos is a wonderful place and it is so rewarding for me to be able to help the school grow and thrive!

I grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, in a large family that valued music, creativity, imagination, love, and respect. We would perform shows together, and my mother was the best storyteller I’ve ever heard. She also taught me to see the best in people. I became a teacher in Mexico, where I had classrooms of up to 50 students, and I developed a passion for helping children learn through music.
I moved to the United States and joined the Mis Amigos family in 2003. Here, I began as a teacher before developing the music program and curriculum that we still use today. I’m excited to be a part of our students’ lives every day, and want to continue to show families why Mis Amigos is such a special place to be.
My dream is that every child has a chance to learn through music and play, in an environment full of love, imagination, and creativity. I also want to continue supporting our teachers and showing them how the #MisAmigosWay can be as big a blessing to them as it has been for me.
